The summer is upon us and we must start to train for the upcoming season.

There are three Program levels of the summer workouts.  I recommend to be in the best shape to follow the level 3 program.  If you honestly do not have the time to spend 2 hours a day 5 days a week in the gym, then perhaps another program level will better suit your schedule.

 

Programs:

Level 1 – Minimum, 3 days a week in the gym

Level 2 – Standard, 4 days a week in the gym

Level 3 – Max, 5 days a week in the gym

Endurance – Everyone completes this program

 

There are three rules to follow to ensure the program you choose will get you the results you will be satisfied with.  Those rules are as follows:

 

  1. Consistency – Be consistent with your workout regiment.  Set a schedule at the beginning of the month and stick to it, no matter how you feel or what your busy day presents stay the course.
  2. Rest – Make sure to get rest, no matter which program you choose rest will be a key factor to help you see the results you desire.  In all programs make your schedule so you never have more then 2 days off in a row.  2 days’ rest is the max of what is allowed for you body to take off from a workout.
  3. Diet – Fuel your body with high quality foods that are rich in vitamins and minerals as well as healthy fats and proteins.  What you put into your body is what you will get out.  The better the quality of food directly effects the quality of energy you will have throughout the day.  Also keep in mind the more times a day you eat the more your metabolism goes to work.  Think of 5 smaller meals a day spread out every 2.5 to 3 hours rather then 3 meals a day spread out over 4 to 6 hours a day.
