Evanston Hockey's mentorship program is designed to a provide leadership development program for intermediate players -- 14U (Bantam) and High School. It's a great opportunity for intermediate players to contribute to the Evanston Hockey community while gaining leadership skills, friendships and community service hours.
Evanston Hockey is seeking intermediate players that are interested in actively working with youth players and dedicating themselves to the following:
Become a member of an assigned team and encourage camaraderie amongst players and the mentor.
Participate in periodic practices and games.
Assist with the planning of an off-ice social activity with the team.
Mentors must be playing at the 14U (Bantam) or High School level for the 2018-19 season.
Mentors must be willing to commit to two-to-three program-related activities per month during the entire season.
Willingness to work with youth hockey players and encourage camaraderie amongst the team.
Strong passion for the game and a desire to share that passion with youth players.
Be responsive and communicative with the team coaches and the director of the mentorship program to ensure program success.
Coordinate and collaborate activities with your co-mentors.
To ensure that the program can be successful and meet its goals, there are only a limited number of mentorship positions available. Selection to the mentorship program will be based upon the thoroughness of responses to the application form and an informal discussion with the mentorship director and/or hockey director Del Morris.
