Evanston Youth Hockey Association (EYHA) is a premier hockey program in northern Illinois offering all levels of youth hockey from Mites through High School levels.
Spring 2018: Skate with Skills, Skate Like a Wildkit
Spring time means it’s skills time. Evanston Hockey's spring program will emphasize skill development for players at all levels of house, travel and high school.
The spring program will feature skills stations and be led by a coaching staff with decades of combined experience at youth, high school, college and international hockey levels. The spring 2018 season will start with tryouts the week of March 12 and run through May 20; it will also include the D65/CPS spring break (week of March 26) at no additional cost. See below for specific information for each age group.
Two practices and one scrimmage per week held at Robert Crown
Approximately 18 total hours of skills-based practices; seven total hours of scrimmage play
Six weeks of specialty practices led by coaches with specific skills training: power skating (Christian Grunnah); shooting/scoring (Bob Rose and Zack Nauert); stickhandling/defense (Jimmy Kahn); goalie coaches present for all six weeks
All teams will play in one competitive, local tournament and will either play in a second local tournament or four league games generally in North Shore area; it is likely that a tournament game will be scheduled during part of a school day for one or both tournaments that are tentatively scheduled for:
Chicago Spring Classic: April 27-29 [top 1-2 teams]
Glacier Invitational: May 17-20 [all teams]
Teams for entire spring will be determined following tryouts; teams will practice individually during week leading up to each tournament
Skills-based practices during the week of D65/CPS spring break (week of 3/26) included in spring program at no additional cost
Fee: $675; includes tryouts, all on-ice programming, coaching, tournament fees, jerseys and a t-shirt for the 10-week program
Note: If you have a 8U (mite) level player, registration for the spring 2018 season will be done through the Evanston Jr. Wildkits organization, which offers Mites the opportunity to play competitive, full-ice games.More information about the Mite program will be communicated by the Evanston Jr. Wildkits.
2018 Girls 12U-14U Spring Program
Two hours of practice per week, one on main ice and one on studio at Robert Crown, and one hour of 3v3 “buzzer hockey” scrimmage on studio per week
Approximately 18 total hours of skills-based practices; eight total hours of scrimmage play
Team will play in a tournament and some girls games:
Big Bear Dragon’s Lair: May 18-20
All 12U and 14U girls are invited to join the team
Skills-based practices during the week of D65/CPS spring break (week of 3/26) included in spring program at no additional cost
Fee: $675; includes skating evaluations, all on-ice programming, coaching, tournament fees, jerseys and a t-shirt for the 10-week program

2018 Girls High School 3 on 3 Spring Program
3-on-3 + goalie hockey games — they are a blast! Every one touches the puck and the abilities range from AAA to new players. Coaches tend to match lines to competition level.
AHAI registered/USA Hockey sanctioned
One game per week on Sundays for six weeks. Times and dates to follow, but games usually start every 70 minutes starting at 3 p.m. Times rarely conflict with other girls spring sports. In the past, all games have been played at Heartland Ice Arena and Wilmette Centennial.
Current 8th through 11th grade players are eligible to play.
Fee: $250 includes the registration fee and jersey

2018 Boys High School Spring Program
One hour of on-ice practice per week held at Robert Crown
JV and Varsity will each have approximately 12 local games as part of traditional high school spring program
Skills-based practices will take place during the week of D202 spring break (week of 3/26) and is included in spring program at no additional cost
JV and Varsity teams will be selected the week of tryouts; current 8th through 11th grade players are eligible to play
Fee: $625; includes tryouts, all on-ice programming, coaching, league fees, jerseys and t-shirt
